What is NOC (loss-of-use coverage)?

NOC waives the “non-operation charge,” a fee that covers the rental office's lost business after an accident.

When an accident leaves the car needing repairs, it can't be rented to the next customer. The non-operation charge is a flat fee for that loss, no matter how much damage there is or how long the repairs take: $250 if the car can still be driven and rented out, or $400 if it can't be driven or rented.

With NOC, you don't pay that $250 or $400. If you want to keep surprise costs after an accident as low as possible, consider adding it along with CDW and ZDW. Note that the $150 accident processing fee applies whether or not you have NOC, and whether or not you were at fault.
