What situations are not covered by insurance at all?

Even with coverage, the following situations are not covered, and any resulting damage will be your responsibility.

This includes: reckless or drunk driving, using a phone or other device while driving, broken windows, theft or vandalism, damage caused by a driver who wasn’t registered on the contract, and traffic fines plus their $100 service fee. New damage found on return also incurs a $150 accident processing fee, regardless of how minor it is.

It also excludes towing costs after an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, damage or loss of tires, wheels, wheel covers, or keys (plus their service fee), any accident or damage not reported to police within 24 hours (with no incident number), and damage from natural disasters like typhoons.

What these all have in common is that they’re avoidable with normal safe driving and the right response afterward, like reporting promptly to police. Following the basic rules keeps your drive worry-free.
