What if the driver and the person paying are different people?

On group or family trips, it’s common for one person to drive while someone else (say, the trip organizer) pays. In that case, both the driver and the payer need to bring their passports.

The credit card used for payment should be in the driver’s own name as a rule. If the driver doesn’t have a credit card, an additional driver fee will apply, so please confirm in advance whose card will be used.

If more than one person may drive, please also register them as an additional driver. Without that registration, insurance coverage will not apply if there’s an accident.
