Today I visited Kai, a Japanese restaurant in Tumon.
It’s in Tumon Blue Lagoon Plaza, which has a big parking lot, so it’s easy to get to by car!
Here’s the entrance.
Inside, it’s roomy, with plenty of tables.
The space to the left of the entrance looks like a private room.
There’s also a counter in front of the kitchen — a nice spot if you’re eating and drinking solo.
Here’s the menu.
At lunch, there are set meals that come with rice, soup, and side dishes.
The regular menu is extensive, too, but since I came for lunch, I went with a set.
The sashimi and chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) came out quickly.
I was tempted to order sake, but I was driving, so it was just food today.
This is the assorted tempura from the lunch set — freshly fried and really delicious.
It includes shrimp, salmon, shiso, bell pepper, broccoli, and mushrooms. The pickles and miso soup were also very tasty.
Next, the hamburger steak.
It comes with the same sides, plus a salad.
Everything was beautifully presented and cooked just right.
It was a really satisfying lunch.
Kai Restaurant offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes. I think it’s a great place to visit not only for lunch but also for dinner to enjoy a drink or two.
