May to June
is prime mango season in tropical Guam! Held annually in mid-May, the Mango
Festival is one of Guam’s most popular events. You can savor freshly picked
mangoes, along with a variety of mango-infused sweets, drinks, and local
dishes—a true mango extravaganza you’ll only find here. Look for the HAGÅT
(Agat Village) sign at the entrance!

Near the
entrance, there were temporary setups like rock climbing and a miniature aerial
swing that looked like they’d be a hit with kids.

This year’s
Mango Festival, held from Friday, May 23rd to Sunday, May 25th, spanned three
days. It was even bigger than last year, with an astonishing 120 stalls
participating! It’s clear that the festival’s popularity is soaring year by
year, solidifying its place as one of Guam’s signature events. The ultimate
highlight, of course, was the Mango Contest! The tables were adorned with a
vibrant display of mangoes, some in colors I’d never seen before, and the sheer
variety was truly astounding.

From
classics like mango bread, mango cake, and scones to freshly cut mango, there’s
a dazzling array of treats that truly bring out the best of mango. It’s a mango
paradise that mango lovers simply can’t resist!

Under Guam’s strong tropical sun, nothing beats a cold drink! These juices
are a taste of the tropics you can only experience here, combining various
fruits like mango, strawberry, melon, coconut, watermelon, and calamansi.

To
commemorate the Mango Festival, how about a unique souvenir that combines a
mango with a latte stone?! This distinctive keepsake would be great to display
on your desk as a reminder of your trip to Guam.

Adding to
the festival’s vibrant atmosphere was an incredible taiko drumming performance.
The drummers powerfully beat their drums while parading through the venue,
bringing the festival’s energy to an absolute peak!

Getting to
Agat Village from the Tumon area is a breeze, taking only about 30 minutes by
rental car or taxi. It’s a straightforward drive—just head south on Marine
Drive—so you won’t get lost and can arrive smoothly. If you’re planning to
visit Guam during this time of year, access is easy, so why not include the
Mango Festival in your next trip itinerary?
