Hafa adai!
Today, I’d like to introduce Capitol Kitchen, a dining spot specializing in Chamorro cuisine, located on a hill near Guam Airport. This restaurant features a fantastic view of the city and offers a lunch buffet and a dining-style dinner experience. While it’s not yet widely known among tourists, it’s incredibly popular with locals. It’s a perfect place to visit by rental car, and I recommend making a reservation in advance.
Upon entering the restaurant, a wonderful view unfolds from the left-hand window, where you can see the hotels in Tumon. I visited for the lunch buffet.
The interior of the restaurant is spacious, with many tables, making it a great option for group dining.
The food is prepared in a room adjacent to the dining area.
Salads are located very close to the table, and you can also enjoy tuna poke.
There were four types of sushi rolls available. They are quite popular and tend to run out quickly.
You can find Chamorro staples like red rice, soup, and fried fish.
Here are the main offerings of the buffet: beef barbecue and pork ribs. It seems the locals come here primarily for this. By the way, there were no tourists at all.
This is the food I brought to my table. The barbecue pairs wonderfully with the traditional Chamorro condiment, finadeni sauce.
Of course, desserts are also available.
Here’s the à la carte menu for dinner. It looks like there are various options, including steak and sushi.
I’ve always been curious about Capitol Kitchen since the parking lot is always full. Next time, I hope to visit for dinner on a nice day and enjoy the sunset!
