Hafa adai! The year 2025 has finally arrived. Whether it's a "this year," "again this year," or "this year for sure!" kind of feeling, I'm sure everyone has their own thoughts, but please make sure to visit Guam!
Today, I would like to introduce some recommended events for 2025. Many different events are being held across Guam, and there are plenty that tourists can enjoy. I’ve picked a few to highlight.
The top
recommendation is the Guam Ko’Ko’ Road Race, which is held
every year in April. This year, it will feature a 5km relay race with teams of
four people, as well as a half marathon. Runners not only from Guam, but also
from overseas, participate in this exciting event. For more details, please
visit the official Guam Visitors Bureau website (https://www.visitguam.com).
Date: Sunday, April 13
Location: Ipao Beach Park, Tumon
The day before,
the Guam Ko’Ko’ Kids Fun Run will take place. This
event is for children aged 4 to 12, and they will run distances of 0.6km,
1.6km, or 3.3km in groups divided by age.
Date: Saturday, April 12
Location: Ipao Beach Park, Tumon
Next, I recommend the Agat Mango Festival. This is a
popular event among the locals, and as the name suggests, the star of the event
is the mango. In addition to fresh, delicious mangoes for sale, there will be a
variety of mango-based sweets. Food trucks serving barbecue and stalls selling
traditional crafts will also be present, making it a lively and exciting
atmosphere. A rental car is a must to get to Agat Village, which is about a
30-40 minute drive from Tumon.
Date: Friday, May 23 – Sunday, May 25
Location: Agat Village, Agat Village Hall (Sagan Bista)
Don’t miss out
on the Guam Micronesia Island Fair! Guam is located in the
region of Micronesia in the vast Pacific Ocean. The Micronesia region includes
Saipan, the Federated States of Micronesia (such as Yap and Pohnpei), Palau,
the Marshall Islands, and more. At this event, representatives from these
islands showcase their unique cultures, including traditional dances and
costumes.
Date: Saturday, June 7 – Sunday, June 8, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Location: Ipao Beach Park, Tumon
Other events include the Guam History & CHamoru Heritage Day Festival in March, where visitors can experience various aspects of Chamorro culture, and the Liberation Day Parade in July. There is always something fun happening in Guam every month. Make sure to join in and enjoy!
